Palm Beach Gardens resident Libby Faber has been accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School’s Dance Division pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts beginning in the fall of 2016. Dancers from all over the world go through a rigorous audition process, which includes an evaluation of ballet, modern, solos, choreography and a personal interview. Each year only twelve women are accepted to the program. Faber, now a senior at William T. Dwyer High School’s International Baccalaureate began dancing at age five at Ballet Palm Beach Academy, formerly known as The Esther Center, located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. What began as an after school activity grew into a passion. As she progressed in her training, Faber trained between 15 – 20 hours a week at Ballet Palm Beach under the direction of artistic director Colleen Smith.

“I would not only say that Miss Colleen helped shape me to be the dancer I am today, because she certainly did, but she shaped the person I am as well. I think the amount of discipline taught to me really helped to make me who I am today. Growing up in an environment where I know people really cared about me was one of the best things about dancing at Ballet Palm Beach,” says Faber. “The training is absolutely world class. Being trained correctly is one of the most important things about dance because it prevents injuries later in life. Being able to dance as long as possible is a great thing! I know that Ballet Palm Beach has the best training in Palm Beach County and I’m so happy that I grew up in this studio,” says Faber.

Ballet Palm Beach Academy is located in Palm Beach Gardens with classes offered to students beginning at age 3 years old. Ballet Palm Beach Academy, formerly known as The Esther Center, has offered premiere training for over twenty years. For more information about the dance school, call 561.630.8235.
