Ballet Palm Beach’s international summer outreach program, Ballet Ambassadors, brought nine company members and eight students to Budapest and Paris from July, 24 through Aug. 5, 2015. The company performed six out of the eight days while in Budapest bringing the art of ballet to the people of Budapest, including underserved groups that may not have the opportunity to enjoy classical ballet and music. Performances took place all over the city from coffee houses, the train station, to a girl’s detention center. After performing in Budapest the group spent a couple of days sight seeing in Paris before returning back to Florida.

The outreach program is an important and unique part of dancing for Ballet Palm Beach. Since 2009, company and student ensemble members have had the opportunity to travel to an international destination and share the art of ballet with different cultures. The rehearsals for this trip began the week of June 29 and continued until they left. This year they performed existing works as well as a newly choreographed piece.
