Ballet Palm Beach, the Palm Beach Symphony and Vanilla Ice (Rob Van Winkle), performed for nearly 1,000 representatives of Florida’s tourism industry including Governor Rick Scott, Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Boca Raton Resort and Spa. The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County highlighted the quality and diversity of art and culture in the county when they invited the local cultural organizations with local entertainer Vanilla Ice to be the opening act at the Chairman’s Dinner.  The Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism is the premier educational conference for the Florida tourism industry and is designed and coordinated by Visit Florida.

“Our symphony and ballet are extraordinary, and Vanilla Ice is extraordinary not only musically, but also in his enthusiastic support of art and culture in the county” said Marilyn Bauer, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County’s Director of Marketing and Government Affairs.  “Ballet Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Symphony are two of the 200 world class organizations we support. What we have, you can’t find anywhere else.”

Ballet Palm Beach will open its 14th season Friday, October 24th and Sunday, October 26th with the romantic masterpiece, Giselle.  Through stunning classical dance and music by Adolphe Adam, Giselle offers the promise of young love and the tragedy of it slipping away.  Following the production of Giselle, the company will perform The Nutcracker, Simple Symphony and Other Works, and Wonderland.  Tickets can be purchased at balletpalmbeach.org or at the Eissey Campus Theatre Box Office (561.207.5900).
